ABOUT ME
Hi, I’m George, I’m a screenwriter and director based in London.
My work has received nominations and awards including Best Director, Audience Award, Best Comedy & Entertainment, as well as accolades from BAFTA-affiliated festivals, awards from The Royal Television Society, selection to Short Of The Week, LSFF and Aesthetica, and a long-list nomination for Best British Short at BIFA.
My multi award-winning 2018 short Beatles conspiracy comedy ‘Paul Is Dead’ was met with critical acclaim and cult-status online, receiving hundreds of audience reviews on Letterboxd, fan art and even DIY Halloween costumes. Fan videos tagged ‘Paul Is Dead Short Film’ have received over 1.1 million views on TikTok.
Most recently I directed ‘Free Spirits’, a half-hour paranormal comedy starring BAFTA-nominee Spencer Jones, due for a festival release in 2023, following a sell-out premiere screening at the iconic RIO Cinema in Dalston.
I have also directed over 50 music videos for independent artists, and work freelance as a script consultant, specialising in story.
In 2021, I founded my own independent production company, Polyrock Films, where I currently have two feature films and a TV series in development.
